Great little machine for the price. Purchased while our Italian Espresso machine was sent off for service. Does a very nice crema considering there is no group head and the auto milk frothing function has several settings including temp and level of frothing. Latte art is possible with a little practice and now that our main stream Espresso machine is back the Maestro Plus will travel with us in our caravan. Highly recommend this unit.

Loses pressure after a month stay away

Works great when you purchase but quickly loses pressure meaning you cannot stamp the coffee to tamper properly after about a month. The machine works well initially but by 1 month you literally have to press the coffee as light as you can (any harder and it won't pull a coffee)
You should not need to do this as your paying good money for a coffee machine but a small workaround is moving from the double wall cup to single wall cup. This said even after moving to the single wall its taking a minute to pour a coffee (thats with the coffee beans lightly pressed) * I buy a very good quality pre ground coffee so it's not a grind issue.
Update I'm now on my 3rd unit all same issue (not enough pressure) All work well *very well out of the box but quickly lose pressure thus giving you no control of your coffee and its an obvious fault with this model.
I can see why the machine gets good reviews as initially the machine does well but I would love to see what all those 5 star reviews say a month or 2 later *depending use I guess. If you like a daily coffee and want a machine that lasts my advise is stay away.

Not the best

I bought this machine a couple of months ago. It’s always been a little tricky to get a good espresso shot out of, it’s like it’s not creating enough pressure to create proper streams of espresso. It starts off as streams for a second or two and then it’s like it can’t push through and the espresso just comes out in drips. This is with following the correct tamping pressure, using freshly ground coffee ground to “espresso grind”. I began using ESE pods for consistency, and was pretty happy with them, but then my auto latte art wand stopped frothing. It now just creates hot milk with a couple of bubbles, whereas it used to create almost too much foam. Have cleaned the nozzle multiple times and tried different positions for steaming. Manual steaming still works however the auto function is completely dead. I plan on returning it.

Horrible locking system for the portafilter

Bought it after having three other De'Longhi coffee machines. It has a horrible locking system for the portafilter. Take me normally couple of attempts to get it locked.

USELESS!!!

This poor excuse for a coffee machine is about as good at making coffee as a prepubescent bull ant. WHY MUST YOU ALWAYS RESET AFTER EACH SHOT YOU EXTRACT!!!!! For a family on the go, requiring a large amount of coffee per morning this is absolutely the worst thing you could buy. I would rather be shot in the face with a nail gun by my loving brother than have to endure the pain of using this god-forsaken machine again.

Albino Tiger Silky white milk Tiger striped coffee

Well I bought the ec950 about 2 months ago. Haven't had the Delonghi before but this Dedica ec950 is one nice machine. Heat up time is about 10 secs, single filter baskets with temp 3 settings for brew gives a great tiger stripes from a great pour & prefect crema.
The auto milk foamer works but I enjoy trying to get the best results manually & I am getting silky shiny milk foam but I will say my art is not much to be desired lol. I'm getting there.
Foot print of this machine is quite small.
Noise isn't to bad.
Looks are amazing.
Coffee is perfect.
Milk is as good as I can get it manually & auto is 8/10.
Height adjustment for cups is fantastic.
I put a filter in water tank.
Only thing I will be getting for the machine itself is a bottomless Portafilter so as I can watch the tiger stripes come out.
Love this machine.
If I was Delonghi my only this I would do would be to add a Portafilter to the package just to up the ante on the fun factor over the rest of the competition & not saying it's not already there.
